Your Business Success Depends on This!



Successful organizations, those ones that are far apart from the competitors know that to continuously be at the top, performance evaluation must be a constant part of their strategy.

It is the same for every successful entrepreneur! In fact it is so crucial to the growth of your business that you should go to a great length, to ascertain exactly how your business is doing!

What are those things we need to measure in evaluating our business performance? We need to look at our core customers, we need to know how many they are? Where are they? What is their likes? ; we may want to look at it weekly, monthly, or quarterly, whatever the case may be, it’s a key performance indicator. We need to look at our new customers or those buying for the first time, how did they hear about us? Which of our marketing efforts brought them in? How can we ensure they become core customers who buy again and again?

We need to look at our financial performance, are we close to the financial goal we set at the beginning of the financial year? We should look at our cost center, the cost elements and the cost structure, are they still within the limits? Is there any dummy in our cost structure? Can we effectively reduce or eliminate any cost dummy? It could be an eye opener and we may be surprised at what we could add to our bottom line by merely doing proper analysis of our cost structure!

All these can be very daunting, and frankly, that is why many business owners run from real analysis. Some do not know where to even start at all, especially if the business is a bit large.
This necessitate that you keep adequate records of every transactions and financial dealings in your business.

Truth be told, without analysis, there is no way you can see how you are doing! There is no way you can know which of your efforts is paying off, there is no way you can measure your performance over a period of time.
It is a big issue! To grow a business, an entrepreneur must take this seriously.

Good news is that you do not need to spend huge amount of your scarce resource to get the performance done!
There are so many relatively low price CRM tools out there that will help you solve this just at a click of a button.

Wining customers for your business is the number one job that you must do with all the passion you have got.
However, before you can attract and win other customers, there is a particular customer you must win at all cost. This customer is the bridge to other customers, if you can convince and win this customer; you are assured of a flood of customers to your business and products. This customer will never be tired of marketing your products/services; he/she will work tirelessly for you and will design any means to get as many customers as possible.
So who is this Customer? Who is this all important Client that must believe and accept your business before any other clients? Who is the Customer you must first sell your products/services to?
The greatest and number one customer you must win is - yes you guess right…. YOU!
It is interesting to note that so many business people do not believe absolutely in their business, it tells in the way they talk about it, the way they do things, even the way they talk to their employee and customers. They are not confident, they are afraid for the future of the business. The question is if you are not persuaded, how can you persuade others?
You must be absolutely sure about the benefits and results that your services will achieve for your clients/customers. So now sit down and write down all of your various services.
Write down the features of each service. Now write down the benefits of each feature, what are the benefits to any organization that purchases any of your service or product.
Be absolutely clear about those benefits, people buy benefits not feature. Do this for all of your service.
If you are really convinced sincerely and you have absolute unshakable, enthusiastic belief in what you offer and the benefit to your clients, then your marketing will be really effective. When you sincerely believe you are offering the customer something of true value, there is all probability that the customer will sense it as such.
If you know what you are doing, love what you are doing, and believe in what you are doing, you will be totally sold on the products and services you offer, and that is the greatest customer you will ever win.
So ask yourself, do I believe absolutely and unshakably in what I do? Am I sure it will add value to my clients? Do I really believe in my ideas and services? Have a time to imagine what your clients will look like after purchasing your services. If you can see a happy, satisfied and fulfilled clients/customers, then you have sold yourself.

One of the least used means of wining customers is strategic alliances. Many do not even know how to go about it, yet it is being done by big corporations every time. 

Let me give an example here, fast food and filling stations! Have you ever wondered what an eatery is doing at a pump station? That is strategic alliance in action! What about various mobile service provider and makers of mobile phones? Look at the alliance between Microsoft and Nokia; it resulted in Nokia lumia powered by windows 8. Recently, some banks are involved in the sales of laptops, why? They have the market, and the maker of laptops have the product; a perfect situation for strategic alliances!
The list is endless. But what really is strategic alliance? How can you use it to boost your sales?
Strategic alliance is when two or more businesses come together in other to promote their interests in a mutually beneficial way. Opportunity to enter into strategic alliances are opened to all businesses one way or the other.

Of course it is easier for businesses who do not consider themselves as competitors. But even competitors may find that strategic alliance may be more beneficial for both rather than direct competition.
Now that we have an idea of what it is, how then can we use it in a practical way?
Let me give some examples. Say you have a car cleaning Services Company, what you need to do is to produce tickets, talk to gas stations (filling/petrol stations) mechanics or motor dealers. Tell them you will clean their customers’ cars for free say twice as long as they can produce the ticket.
The ticket may even bear both your company and their company’s name. I bet any one of these people who is wise will of course agree to your request, and you know what? If your work and your customer relations are good, you will win many customers out of these people and your fame will spread abroad.
What if you have a laundry business? Enter into strategic alliances with tailors, seamstress, cloth sellers and even Banks! You will wash their customers’ cloth free for the first time, I dare you to try this and see a tremendous growth in your customer base!

One thing however, since these people probably have businesses doing things for them before, you must tread with discretion and your service must be above reproach, and remember to put a space on the ticket where they could put their phone number and e-mail addresses. If you could get this, well you are on your way to turning your business into a million dollar business.

Strategic Alliances can be extended to virtually all businesses. It is a great way of building unlimited potential client/customer profile. Now by definition, strategic alliance must work for both parties. That is why you should design it in such a way that the other party too will benefit. How? If you are doing the first job for free, it should be made to serve as a bonus for the customers/clients of the other party. I am sure you understand what I mean.
